Bonilla's work has involved: determining the capital cost of regulated companies; expressing an opinion in insurance lawsuits; assessing the impact of public policies; analyzing the entrepreneurship development policies; regulation of the financial market; appraisal of companies; and transfer pricing. He has also been an expert witness on damages to institutional investors in lawsuits.
Bonilla is an expert in financial economics and is a member of the American Economic Association. He has published more than 30 articles in diverse academic journals and magazines, such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Economic Modelling, Scientometrics, Management Decisions, Finance Research Letters, Emerging Markets Finance & Trade, Economics Letters, Applied Economics, Public Choice, Family Business Review, The Manchester School, and Applied Economics Letters.
Claudio has earned several honors, including Outstanding Management Control and Information Engineering Graduate at the University of Chile, awarded by the Graduates Association (2004), Young Leader of Today, by El Mercurio (2007), Dean's Chair for scientific productivity (2010) and Outstanding Graduate of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Chile, given at the celebration of the school's 80th anniversary (2015).
